Britney Explained?
Author: Rich Heldenfels Britney Explained? TMZ.com says Britney Spears' recent troubles may stem from depression.
``Sources tell TMZ that Britney's doctors have two operating theories -- either that she suffers from postpartum depression or bipolar disorder,'' the site said. ``The doctors strongly believe postpartum is the problem.''

Evans Divorce. Citing court papers, Extra says that singer Sara Evans' estranged husband is still fighting about claims he had unseemly photographs of himself. The TV show has Craig Schelske saying that Evans admitted to being mistaken about the photographs.
At the same time, Extra notes Evans has claimed ``that Schelske has made numerous threats demanding that she fire her legal team. Further, the papers state that Schelske would not mediate the case unless she fired her attorney, appeared on television and publicly clear his name.''

More Roker. Former Clevelander Al Roker will be a guest host of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire on March 5-9. Regular host Meredith Vieira, who works with Roker on Today, asked Roker to fill in while she took a break.

Baby Watts? In Touch magazine online (www.intouchweekly.hollywood.com) has further evidence that Naomi Watts is pregnant via boyfriend Liev Schreiber, even though neither performer has confirmed it.

Watts' credits include King Kong and The Ring. Schreiber played the now-dead Michael Keppler on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

``The model and near-divorcee [from Paul McCartney] was spotted entering a dance studio yesterday in London, carrying the usual necessities, a bag of groceries, and a leg.''

One Last Reason To Hate the Oscars Telecast. An anonymous reader dropped a long complaint in my voice mail about the seeming lack of coverage of best-actor winner Forest Whitaker in Monday's Beacon Journal. I did write about Whitaker -- and his fine acceptance speech. But that material did not appear in all editions.
The reason: The awards run too doggone long and the motion picture academy holds back the big winners for late in the telecast -- after some newspaper deadlines.
