RAW MATWEIAL AND FABRIC YARN CHARACTERISTICS OF CAMEL-HAIR, SAIDI WOOL AND THEIR BLEND Forty five fleeces of each of Camelids dromedaries (one-humped camel) and Saidi fat tailed sheep were collected after one year growth and were assigned to the following categories; G1 (100% camel hair), G2 (50% camel-hair and 50% Saidi wool) and G3 (100% Saidi wool).

Also, G2 was found to have more regular yarn compared with G1. While, there were no significant differences between the camel-hair alone (G1) and the blend of both camel hair and wool (50% for each G2) in the yarn twisting, yarn metric count and elongation. This concluded that camel hair could be added to wool blends without any adverse effect on most yarn characteristics, which positively improve the value of camel hair as a useful textile material.
